Phoenix water is some of the hardest in the country. A typical range here is about 12 to 20 grains per gallon. Those minerals plate the inside of your pipes, your heater, your dishwasher, and every valve in the house.
A softener pulls the calcium and magnesium out before the water reaches any of it. We build ours in-house, so the tank and the valve get matched to your home instead of whatever came in the box.

We read your water
We pull a sample at the tap and test the hardness. Phoenix runs high everywhere, but the number moves from one neighborhood to the next.
We count the demand
How many people live there and how many bathrooms they use sets the size. That number picks the tank, not a sales sheet.

Parts and labor on one page before anything moves. Financing is there if a new system wasn't in this month's budget.
Install day
Most installs take a few hours. The bypass means you can shut the softener off without shutting off water to the house.

No. Salt stays in the brine tank and never reaches your glass. What comes out of the tap is water with the hardness swapped out, and the sodium left behind is tiny.
Not for scale. Salt-free units change how the minerals behave so they stick less, but the hardness is still in the water. If you want the white crust gone, you want salt.
It depends on your hardness reading and how much water the house uses. Most homes we size add a bag or two a month. We give you your own number at the estimate.
Yes, we repair and swap most brands. For a new unit we point you at ours, because we can size it exactly and we keep the parts on the truck.
Usually the garage or an outside wall, near where the main line comes in. We look at your layout at the free estimate and tell you the spot.
It helps a lot. Scale settles in the bottom of a tank and makes the burner work harder. Soft water keeps that layer from building up at all.
No. A softener takes out hardness, not taste or odor. Carbon filtration handles the chlorine smell, which is why plenty of homes get both.
A unit that's sized right and gets salt on schedule usually runs 10 to 15 years. The control valve is the part that wears, and it can be replaced.
